- Tour your town. Visit the local visitor’s center find where you want to start. Learn more about the town’s history from local museums or botanical gardens for wide open spaces. Check out some shops while strolling the streets after grabbing a scoop of ice cream along the way. While you’re at it grab some local food to go to bring back home.
- Backyard Camping. If your ideal vacation includes camping, try camping out in the backyard during your staycation. Set up a tent and enjoy burgers on the grill, s’mores by the fire, grab some local craft beer, and stargazing from your backyard. If the weather isn’t cooperating, because Kansas, set up camp inside your home.

Your day could include a soak in the tub, a facial, manicure or an eye mask while you nap. Stay at a hotel and let someone else cook for your as you order food to the room. Enjoy the day and relax.
Travel is not really about your physical location. To travel, is about thinking differently about your own surroundings and being challenged by them, which is why I am encouraging people to get lost in their own town.
